How to Make CCS Happen

When:  Dec 1, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM (ET)

Join us as Distinguished Lecturer Ian Phillips gives a follow-up lecture on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).

Abstract:
The CCS value chain is long and complex – many different parts need to work together to enable us to capture CO2 and sequester it deep underground so we start to do something about the emissions that are causing climate change.

This presentation will discuss each step in the CCS value chain – discussing the technologies that are available now, that are maturing into the market, and that are being developed as researchers round the world focus their attention on the challenge.  The presentation will also consider the commercial challenges to making CCS a reality at scale.

Finally, we will discuss the scale of the challenge that we expect CCS to address.
